In honor of Father’s Day, we would like to honor Mary Virginia Merrick’s father, Richard Merrick. As a prominent attorney and a successful business man in Washington, D.C., he was able to show his love to his family by providing a stable home and wonderful education for the children. He also shared the love of his Catholic faith and passed those traditions onto his family. Because of her upbringing, it allowed Mary Virginia to have many like-minded people that could support her vision of helping the poor children. Thank you, Richard Merrick and all of the fathers and father figures... HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
National Board Vice President Jeanette May was inspired to become a foster parent during the 2020 Covid pandemic. She spent her first year of fostering with teenagers and has since moved into respite care. She provides short-term relief for primary caregivers when they are in need of time away.
